Herb’s City Trumpets

Herb’s City Trumpets (HCT) provides a mentorship program for youth ages 10 to 18. While learning the trumpet, program participants will use music as a platform to intentionally focus on self-expression, social skill development, responsibility, and discipline. Lessons and rehearsals will be lead by local musician, Herb Smith, alongside ROCmusic. The HCT program provides the following weekly activities for students:
Individual or Small Group Lessons
Large Group Ensemble Rehearsal
Friday participant discussions with mentor(s) over dinner
Access to ROCmusic elective classes
HCT students will also receive a trumpet to check out for the year, community performance opportunities, and access to local cultural and musical events.
